How BiteSparks approaches recipe information.

Our purpose

BiteSparks is an independent online recipe publication operated by M.G.Y. Thejan Mahakumbura in Sri Lanka. We publish recipes and cooking guidance intended to help readers choose, prepare, and store everyday meals more confidently.

Recipe information

We aim to publish recipes with a clear ingredient list, a logical sequence of steps, practical timing, and useful notes such as substitutions, common mistakes, and storage guidance. Readers should treat timings and nutrition figures as guidance rather than guarantees because ingredients, equipment, portions, and cooking conditions vary.

Food safety and health information

BiteSparks is not a medical, allergy, or dietary-advice service. Readers should check packaging and allergen information, use a food thermometer where appropriate, and follow local food-safety guidance. Recipes are not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.

Images, videos, and outside resources

BiteSparks uses original site assets and, where used, clearly identified third-party resources. Embedded YouTube videos remain the property of their respective creators. A video reference is supplementary guidance; it does not replace the written BiteSparks recipe.

Corrections

We welcome correction requests for unclear instructions, inaccurate information, broken links, or other issues. Please email thejanmahakumbura@gmail.com with the recipe name, page URL, and the detail you found. We review requests and make corrections where appropriate.

Independence and advertising

Google AdSense is not currently active on BiteSparks. If advertising or affiliate relationships are enabled in the future, relevant disclosures and privacy information will be updated before they are used.
